Diocesan Spring Conference 2018 | April 28 | Appleton
FAITHFUL INNOVATION IN A DISRUPTIVE AGE

“Since change is a constant, we need to embrace it and innovate or we stagnate and eventually succumb to being obsolescent, irrelevant, or we die off.”
Is your church, like so many others, struggling? Feeling like you don’t have enough? Wondering if there is any way to reach folks who no longer come to church or who think church is not for them? If this sounds like your congregation, you’ll want to attend the Diocesan Spring Conference on Saturday, April 28 on the east side of Appleton. Hosted by the Commission on Congregational Vitality,

FAITHFUL INNOVATION IN A DISRUPTIVE AGE will be led by Dwight Zscheile, an Episcopal priest and professor at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN who specializes in Missional Leadership. Interested? Willing? Exciting? Talk to your church leaders, try to get a few other folks from your church, (but if no one else is interested, you come anyway) and sign up by visiting the Diocesan website at diofdl.org/sc.

Here are more comments from those who have done learned with Dwight:
  • “Even if the act of listening to our community / brothers & sisters does not lead to any sort of project/mission, it leads to deeper relationship and authenticity.”
  • “I feel a deeper sense of purpose in my community and with my faith. I have gained many relationships and have learned so much from just putting myself out other and trying something new/different. I feel, more than before, that I am living a gospel-driven life.”
  • “This process allows a church to step from outside of itself and really focus on the work of being the Kingdom of God and living out the gospel. It allows members to be with and love those who would never step foot in a church building, and let’s face it, that number of people unwilling/afraid/hesitant to go to church is ever increasing.”
  • “I have seen the Spirit bringing people together—inside our walls and outside our walls---connecting with new people empowers members to do the same with those they meet in day-to-day life as well.”

The Liturgical Rota for March-May is now available. This is for all those involved in liturgical ministries. Click below to see it.
